WHAT WE HAVE DONE...
The first month has been successful and we believe that it is because of your prayers and encouragements that you have been giving us. Nothing is as good as experiencing a new culture, moving in and living with the people, sharing meal with the people and above all sharing the WORD with the people. Learning how people live and how to live with the people and of course language being a major challenge.
I had to take a one month French course and now I can speak a little French, and be part of a conversation though I still have to learn a lot.
We have visited different places here right from the slums, suburbs, cities to the rural upcountry blessing people in different ways and people blessing us too. To get a taste and a test of the village that we visited, I had to do a short video for you. Lets roll the clip.

Two weeks after shooting this video we visited a slum with a population of almost 1.3 Million people. Right in this slum, we found a mission that has done a lot of development projects and it was a good learning experience on how organizations are run, the challenges that organizations meet and what prayers can do.

I have also been having a lot of interviews with the local small scale business people in matters of development and writing articles about all I learn and get from these business men.
My Interviews and talks with business people landed me to a lady who lives on less than a dollar a day, selling ground nuts on small packages for only 5 cent. With her little daughter, they sit by the roadside with a hope of getting buyers and what struck me most was the warmth and joy they had on their faces. Even though we did not say a lot because of the language barrier We really enjoyed our short stay and interview with her.
Jesus said, let the little children come to me and when I saw this little girl who was so happy to take pictures with us, the first verse that came in my mind was Mathew 19:14. " because the kingdom of heaven belongs to people like these. ."
We are thinking of visiting this lady again and even share more with her. I ask you to pray for this family. Pray for this little girl that she will get formal education and be light to this nation and leave as a role model to many.
We have visited different churches here and it is so good to meet brothers and sisters and pray together. If you have never seen an African praise and worship session then you better get on top of things and see one. Its indescribable.
We have also learned about finance and managing our finances the Godly way and this is a project that is done by an organization here that I found so helpful.
We also got a chance to visit the beach (North Atlantic Ocean) and a whole wave of water splashed on my face and the image below captured me reacting to the unexpected cold shower.

What I found interesting is that everything that God made praises and honours his name. From singing birds in the air, dancing trees, smiling mountains and deeps of the valley, fish in the ocean to clapping waters all show the state of art that nobody can ever make apart from the leaving God.
And one of the weekends we visited this Renaissance Statue in one of the countries where I realised that I can fly pointing heavens. My dream here is to someday rise above the clouds and sing with Angels in the throne of mercy.
In the next few weeks we will move to a different town where we will be working and getting the real experience of what brought us here. "The creme de la creme.'
So sign up for updates and we will keep you posted on the latest from Thirsty Lands.
Coming NEXT is a video of Daily Business from Sunrise to Sunset. Stay tuned.
1 Cor 4:1 This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God.
